Rotary Quiz

Some of our P7 pupils represented the school at the local annual Rotary Quiz.

Nine local schools participated and we were delighted to come in 4th place. The competition was very close and our team managed to get full marks in several of the rounds. A great achievement – Well Done!

Sport Relief – Silly Hat Walk

dsc01508.jpg      We supported the work of Sport Relief by organising a ‘Silly Hat’ walk. Pupils and staff all wore a silly hat and tool part in a walk around the area. Pupils donated money to the extremely worthwhile work of Sport Relief.

The winners of the ‘Best Silly Hat’ from each class are pictured.

World Book Day Winners

As part of our World Book Day activities last week the pupils’ Events Committee organised a bookmark competition. This competition was judged today, with the winners being allowed to order a book from the Scholastic Book Club as their prize.

Congratulations to the winners: Early Stages – Amy Richards, Middle Stages – Stuart Duncan and Upper Stages – Lucinda Purvis.

Happy Reading!

Sport Relief – We’re ‘Going the Extra Mile’

sport.jpgThe school is participating in Sport Relief 2008.

We are joining thousands of people throughout the country who will be ‘going the extra mile’ on Friday 14th March.

The theme we have chosen is ‘Silly Hats’ and we hope that all pupils will bring a silly hat to wear as we walk the mile. The best silly hat will win a prize!

We suggest that pupils bring £1 to donate to Sport Relief.

Knex Challenge Winners

P4-6  pupils participated in this annual school event, organised by Setpoint. The representative from Setpoint was joined by a local engineer.

This year the pupils were set the challenge of building a bridge. Both visitors were extremely impressed with the quality of the pupils’ structures and their knowledge of basic engineering principles.

The standard of entries was very high, but the engineer decided that Ross and Eddie’s bridge was the most impressive. The boys will represent the school at the regional final in September.
